Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about ordering, shipping, and caring for your fish and plants.

Ordering
How do I place an order?
Add fish and plants to your cart and check out. Shipping and any sales tax are calculated at checkout from your address.
Can I combine fish and plants in one order?
Yes. Fish ship overnight and plants ship separately by UPS 2nd Day Air, 3 Day Select or Ground, so an order with both shows two shipping charges at checkout.
Do I need an account to order?
No. You can check out as a guest.
Shipping & Delivery
How are live fish shipped?
Every fish travels in a double bag with oxygen inside an insulated foam box, with a heat pack or cool pack matched to the forecast along the route. See Shipping & Live Arrival.
When do orders ship?
Livestock ships Monday through Wednesday only, for next-day delivery. Orders placed after Tuesday 12pm ET ship the following Monday.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is calculated at checkout from how many fish are in your order and where they are going.
What if the weather is bad?
If temperatures on the route fall outside safe ranges, we pause shipments and contact you to reschedule. You are never charged extra for a weather hold.
Fish Health & Live Arrival
What is the Live Arrival Guarantee?
If a fish arrives dead, report it within 2 hours of the first delivery attempt with clear photos of the fish inside the unopened bag and out of the bag on a light surface. Verified DOAs are replaced free on the next shipping run, or refunded for the price of the fish. Shipping charges are non-refundable.
What should I do when the box arrives?
Bring it inside immediately, dim the aquarium lights, float the sealed bags for 20 to 30 minutes, drip acclimate for 45 to 60 minutes, then net the fish into the tank. Never pour bag water into your aquarium, and skip the first feeding until the next day.
Are your fish quarantined?
Every fish passes a minimum two-week quarantine and must be eating confidently before it is listed.
Plants
Will your plants survive with cichlids?
We stock hardy, cichlid-proof greens such as Anubias and Java Fern. Attach them to rock or driftwood rather than planting in the substrate.
Payments & Returns
What payment methods do you accept?
TODO: Mike's answer.
Can I return a fish or plant?
Live animals cannot be returned. If a fish arrives dead, the Live Arrival Guarantee above applies.
